Our mission is to encourage and support the spiritual and musical education of children and to serve the worship and arts communities of West Michigan.

October 2014

This fall, the Grand Rapids Choir of Men & Boys begins its' 25th anniversary season!

For a quarter century, GRCMB has always been the best free concert in the city, and the most therapeutic. The idea of our choir and the cathedral as a multi-sensory experience of architecture, art, community and contemplation seems to be why people keep coming to our concerts.  GRCMB is a refuge from the stress of daily life, and at its core is our music...this heavenly music.

Through your past support, GRCMB has become a treasure for the boys of our community who in turn are treasured by all who hear them sing.

Humbled by how very much all of you care...

Another Successful GRCMB Choir Camp

Each summer our boys spend 7 weeks preparing for the new season. This year 14 new potential choristers joined our current group of 24 singers to experience the training and community the Choir offers these talented young boys. They learn music theory and rehearse new songs for 3 hours each Monday morning at GRCC and then have a fun afternoon, swimming and making new friendships!

Photographer Ericka DeWard  spent a day filming our choristers and put an awesome video together. Thanks Ericka! Click the link above and experience a day in the life of a GRCMB summer camp chorister.

Special thanks to our pianist Gwen Hendrikse, vocal coach Marcia Pylman, and our volunteer camp assistants, the Schimmelmann family Lori, Emily and Joe, and David Heinze.

National Association of Pastoral Musicians

July 7, 2015

GRCMB choristers both young and old were gathered back in from the midst their summer vacations to sing a rare July performance at St. Andrew's Cathedral in Grand Rapids.

The audience was an awesome and esteemed group of over 600 church musicians from all over the world gathered in Grand Rapids this week for the Pastoral Musicians Convention. Our choir was received enthusiastically and appreciatively. It was a grand night for singing.

Our Director Scott Bosscher mentioned to the audience that our programs and song text are on our website. You can find them on the Previous Programs page. Download a program and find the corresponding performance on our YouTube Channel!

#Giving Tuesday December 1 2015
#GivingTuesday GRCMB

This year, on Tuesday, December 1, 2015, Grand Rapids Choir of Men and Boys is participating in #GivingTuesday, a global day dedicated to giving.

Last year, more than 27,000 organizations in 68 countries came together to celebrate #GivingTuesday.  Since its founding in 2012, #GivingTuesday has inspired giving around the world, resulting in greater donations, volunteer hours, and activities that bring about real change in communities.  We invite you to join the movement and to help get out and give this December 1.

Your donation to GRCMB’s #GivingTuesday campaign will:

  • Continue to offer all our concerts free of charge to the West Michigan community
  • Maintain the depth and quality of the Choir’s programing and performance
  • Underwrite the musical and spiritual training of West Michigan boys
  • Underwrite our free two month chorister summer music camp
  • Assures and anchors the Choir’s future as we begin our 26th year serving the West Michigan community

There are many ways to get involved in #GivingTuesday.  We encourage you to join the movement:

  • Share this information with your family and friends to let them know you support Grand Rapids Choir of Men and Boys’s  #GivingTuesday campaign
  • Donate to our #GivingTuesday campaign

This year the choir will sing one of the world’s most loved carols “In the Bleak Midwinter.” The final line repeats and answers the question: “What can I give Him? Give my heart!” Won’t join with us, offering our hearts together?
